Basketball Game Preview: Mount View Golden Knights vs. Greenbrier West Cavaliers

The Mount View Golden Knights will face off against the Greenbrier West Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Mount View blew past Meadow Bridge, posting a 77-43 victory. The win continues a trend for the Golden Knights in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Mount View found their leader in sophomore Tanner Castle, who posted 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Castle has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaron Hale, who put up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier West had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 65-52 victory over Pocahontas County on Thursday.

Mount View's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Greenbrier West, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.

Mount View didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Greenbrier West in their previous matchup back in March of 2020, but they still walked away with a 57-51 win.
