Baseball Recap: Bishop Montgomery Gets the Win

Bishop Montgomery proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by seven) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Redondo Union Sea Hawks 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Sea Hawks: they've now won four in a row.

Bishop Montgomery got a great performance from Michael Flink as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Flink has become a key player for the Knights: the team is 6-1-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Dominic Robley was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Andy Lasso was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

The victory got Bishop Montgomery back to even at 12-12-1. As for Redondo Union, they moved to 16-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Bishop Montgomery will take on Woodrow Wilson at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 4, the Bruins 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Redondo Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
