Baseball Game Preview: Dysart Demons vs. Cortez Colts

Dysart has gone a perfect 10-0 against Cortez recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Demons will head out on the road to face off against the Colts at 3:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dysart has three straight victories, Cortez has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Dysart's win against Coronado wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Demons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Dons on Thursday.

Eduardo Carranza was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Javier Hernandez-Olaiz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Cortez fell victim to Yuma and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Criminals, falling 22-0. Considering the last time the Colts couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Cortez's loss dropped their record down to 4-17-1. As for Dysart, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Dysart took their victory against Cortez when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-2 score. Do the Demons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
