Basketball Recap: Marble Falls Takes a Loss

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Marble Falls faced off against Lake Belton on Thursday. The Mustangs took a 39-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broncos. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 983rd, while the Broncos are ranked 149th).

Marble Falls has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Lake Belton, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.

Coming up, Marble Falls won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mexia at 9:55 a.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Black Cats have now posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Lake Belton, they will venture away from home to take on Gateway College Preparatory at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
