Basketball Game Preview: Bishop McGuinness Villains vs. Queen's Grant Stallions

Two dominant guards in Adelaide Jernigan and Za'Miya Bynum are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Bishop McGuinness Villains will challenge the Queen's Grant Stallions on Tuesday. Bishop McGuinness knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Queen's Grant likes a good challenge.

Bishop McGuinness is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took down Jackson Day 63-44. The Villains pushed the score to 58-33 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mariners cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Queen's Grant entered their tilt with Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy on Friday with 11 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 12. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 72-66 W against the Gryphons.

Bishop McGuinness better focus on containing Misa Garris and Bynum as the pair were huge in Queen's Grant's win. Garris went 11-for-23 on her way to 27 points and five assists, while Bynum shot 55% from the field to rack up 27 points and five steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Bynum has scored at least a third of Queen's Grant's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Casey Smith, who posted seven points along with five rebounds and four blocks.

Bishop McGuinness' win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.1 points on average over those games. As for Queen's Grant, their victory bumped their record up to 22-4.
