Volleyball Recap: Westfield Falls Short of Carroll in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Westfield can now relate to. They fell just short of the Carroll Chargers by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Shamrocks' loss signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Westfield's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Blevins, who had 29 assists and eight digs. Blevins has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last 19 times she's played. Kendyl Strack was another key player, getting 19 digs and four aces.

Among those leading the charge was Hayden Finefrock, who had 14 digs.

Westfield's loss dropped their record down to 26-2. As for Carroll, the win keeps them at an undefeated 35-0.

Westfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carroll, they have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Crown Point on the 1st.
