Basketball Recap: James Madison Beats Yorktown for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask James Madison). They walked away with a 49-39 victory over the Yorktown Patriots on Monday. Given the Warhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Patriots are ranked 118th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win (which was James Madison's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. As for Yorktown, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

James Madison won't have much time to rest: their next game is against McLean at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Yorktown, they will be home for the holidays to greet George C. Marshall at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
