After a string of six wins, Calhoun's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Columbia Prep Lions by a score of 2-1. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 7-3 to the Lions when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ian Abramson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Calhoun saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Glasgow, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 8-3-1. As for Columbia Prep, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Calhoun beat the Lions by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday.
