Soccer Game Preview: Hesperia vs. Sultana

The Hesperia Scorpions will head out on the road to face off against the Sultana Sultans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Hesperia put up the most goals they have all season on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Apple Valley. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 4-0.

Hesperia's offense was hitting Apple Valley from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Xzavier Murgo led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Sultana kept a clean sheet against Serrano on Friday. They put the hurt on the Diamondbacks with a sharp 9-0 win. Sultana have beaten Serrano the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Serrano has come to flipping the script.

Sultana's victory bumped their record up to 11-2-3. As for Hesperia, their win bumped their record up to 14-4-1.
