Horizon had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Socorro Bulldogs by a score of 28-20. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Scorpions as it put an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Horizon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sergio Santana, who picked up 124 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Julian Williams also helped out by tossing the rock for 321 yards.
Horizon was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 403 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Socorro only gained 287.
