Volleyball Recap: Avon Takes a Loss

Avon lost against Conard back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Falcons came up short against the Red Wolves, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-7, 25-21.

Maddie Vanvalkenburgh paced Avon's offense, picking up seven kills. Vanvalkenburgh got some help from Bella Peterson and her seven assists. Ainsley Evans controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Conard can attribute much of their success to Phoebe K, who had 11 digs and two aces. K is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last six games she's played. Caroline H also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Avon has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Conard, the victory snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 12-7 record.

Avon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Conard, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Glastonbury on the 27th.
