Softball Preview: Havana Ducks vs. Astoria/VIT Rebels

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Astoria/VIT made sure to put some runs up on the board against Peoria Heights on Saturday. Astoria/VIT was the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over Peoria Heights. Astoria/VIT might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four matches by 13 runs or more this season.

Hannah Horwedel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Horwedel was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base.

In other batting news, Marissa Lawson was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three RBI, a triple, and a run. Another player making a difference was Shelby Heller, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Havana's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Astoria/VIT, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
