Volleyball Recap: Kewanee Comes Up Short

Kewanee was the 2-1 winner over Roanoke-Benson when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Boilermakers fell 2-0 to the Rockets on Saturday. The Boilermakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Kolbie Cernovich paced Kewanee's offense, picking up five kills. Cernovich got some help from Macee Pickering and her seven assists. Finally, Damaris Diaz kept Kewanee's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Kewanee's loss dropped their record down to 9-9-1. As for Roanoke-Benson, their victory bumped their record up to 3-17-1.

Kewanee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Erie-Prophetstown on the 30th. As for Roanoke-Benson, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against El Paso-Gridley on the 29th.
