Football Recap: Bella Vista Takes a Loss

Bella Vista lost against Rio Americano back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Broncos fell 35-28 to the Raiders. The Broncos gained 181 more yards on the day, but it was the Raiders that made the best use of them.

When it comes to explaining why Bella Vista lost, don't look at Dvaughn Norwood. Despite the final result, he rushed for 164 yards and a pair of touchdowns. With that strong performance, Norwood is now averaging an impressive 109.5 rushing yards per game.

Ryder Trantham looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 150 yards and one TD, while also punching in one score on the ground. Devin Pointes also helped with two touchdowns in total.

This is the second loss in a row for Bella Vista and nudges their season record down to 2-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-2 Ponderosa (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.9% over those games). As for Rio Americano, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Bella Vista wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 50-20 loss against Inderkum on the 10th. As for Rio Americano, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ponderosa at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
