Basketball Recap: Addy Hancock Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Standing Bear

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Norris, Wahoo was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They snuck past the Standing Bear Grizzlies with a 44-38 win. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Wahoo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addy Hancock led the charge by going 6 of 11 on her way to 18 points and three steals. Those three steals gave Hancock a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gretchen Seagren, who posted 13 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Standing Bear lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Braylee Vasa, who had 12 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Lily Hansmeier, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 16 points and six rebounds.

The victory got Wahoo back to even at 2-2. As for Standing Bear, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Wahoo will welcome Ashland-Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Standing Bear, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Beatrice at 1:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
