Baseball Game Preview: Stewarts Creek Red Hawks vs. Northwest Vikings

The Stewarts Creek Red Hawks will face off against the Northwest Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northwest took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Stewarts Creek, who comes in off a win.

Stewarts Creek took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Beech, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Hawks have posted since April 13, 2024.

Tyler Sallee looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Coleman Neas was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Shawn Rhodes, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
