On Thursday, Torrington faced Wheatland in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Torrington Trailblazers put the hurt on the Wheatland Bulldogs with a sharp 54-34 victory. The Trailblazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Wheatland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lily Anderson posted 16 points and five steals. That was a full 47.1% of Wheatland's points, marking the sixth time in a row Anderson has had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Shayden Davis, who earned eight points.

The win made it two in a row for Torrington and bumps their season record up to 10-6. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.0 points over those games. As for Wheatland, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.
