The Lincoln Christian Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Victory Christian Conquerors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Victory Christian will be coming in after a defeat.
Lincoln Christian put the finishing touches on their 15th blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 61-34 victory over Quinton at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lincoln Christian.
Lincoln Christian found their leader in underclassman Maddi Stewart, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds. Stewart is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Kayli Atkinson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Victory Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They were the victim of a rough 66-46 defeat at the hands of Douglass. While losing is never fun, Victory Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Douglass is ranked 45th).
Lincoln Christian's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.9 points per game. As for Victory Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Lincoln Christian against Victory Christian when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 72-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincoln Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
