Basketball Game Preview: Arlington Christian vs. Hills Academy Knights

Arlington Christian will head out on the road to take on the Hills Academy Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Arlington Christian is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering East Paulding just ended the team's 12-game winning streak dating back to last season on Saturday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 53-50. The contest marked Arlington Christian's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Hills Academy came tearing into back in December of 2024's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to the Firebirds for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-12 victory. The contest marked the Knights' most dominant win of the season.

Arlington Christian better focus on containing Adrian Campbell and Matthew Jackson as the pair were huge in Hills Academy's win. Campbell posted 24 points, while Jackson had 17 points. Campbell's afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Thrasher, who put up ten points.

Hills Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for Arlington Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 11-1.

Everything went Arlington Christian's way against Hills Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Arlington Christian made off with an 84-58 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arlington Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
