Torrey Pines had won 11 straight games and Lila Green did her part to make it 12 on Wednesday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Cathedral Catholic Dons with a sharp 3-0 victory for which the team can thank Green, who had 11 digs and six assists. She has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Torrey Pines never let Cathedral Catholic on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-23, 25-9.

Several Dons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryce Buchner, who had 16 assists and five digs. Samantha Saba was another key player, getting 11 digs and two assists.

Torrey Pines' win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Cathedral Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-2.

Coincidentally, Torrey Pines and Cathedral Catholic will both be playing Sierra Canyon the next time they take the court. The Falcons will host the Trailblazers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Dons will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
