The Piedmont Community Charter Patriots will take on the Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Piedmont Community Charter has six straight victories, Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Piedmont Community Charter is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Sugar Creek Charter get on the board and left with a 25-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won six contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Bree Phillips made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI, three runs, and two doubles. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Evangeline East was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Addison Propst was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
Piedmont Community Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .727. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Bradford Prep on Friday and fell 16-15.
Cecelia ?CC? Aurelio made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Madison Dabbs, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Piedmont Community Charter's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Piedmont Community Charter has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.7 stolen bases.
