Soccer Recap: Verdugo Hills Falls to Sherman Oaks CES in First Game of Season

Verdugo Hills unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Sherman Oaks CES Knights by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Verdugo Hills couldn't quite close it out.

Verdugo Hills and Sherman Oaks CES will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Dons see the pitch they'll take on North Hollywood at 4:00 p.m. on December 1. As for Sherman Oaks CES, their break will end when they face San Fernando at 4:30 p.m. on December 3.
