Baseball Game Recap: Villa Grove Blue Devils vs. Argenta-Oreana Bombers

Villa Grove had lost six straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 6-13 to make it seven. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to the Argenta-Oreana Bombers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bombers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Thomas Vandeventer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs.

As for Argenta-Oreana, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games.

On Argenta-Oreana's side, the team relied heavily on MJ Hall, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Hall has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lucas Camfield, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
