Basketball Game Preview: Belding Black Knights vs. Calvin Christian Squires

Belding hasn't had much luck against Calvin Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Belding Black Knights will face off against the Calvin Christian Squires at 7:00 p.m.

Last Friday, Belding came up short against NorthPointe Christian and fell 59-52.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Calvin Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against West Michigan Aviation Academy by a score of 47-38 on Saturday. Given the Squires' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while West Michigan Aviation Academy are ranked 477th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Calvin Christian is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Belding, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Belding lost to Calvin Christian on the road by a decisive 64-45 margin when the teams last played back in January. Can Belding avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
