Softball Recap: Old Town Coyotes vs. Ellsworth Eagles
Old Town faced Ellsworth in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Coyotes put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 15-1 win. The Coyotes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by eight runs or more this season.
Emily Wheeler was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Fournier, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Old Town kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.2.
