Basketball Recap: Pagosa Springs Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Pagosa Springs couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 60-38 to the Timnath Cubs on Wednesday. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Loss or not, Pagosa Springs got some senior leadership from Karsyn Shahan and Elizabeth Currier. Shahan posted 18 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Currier had eight points and three steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for Shahan.

Pagosa Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Timnath, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.

Pagosa Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Timnath, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-46 loss against Delta on the 14th.
