Basketball Recap: Ava Works' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Flagler Palm Coast over Mainland

After flying high against Father Lopez last Tuesday, Flagler Palm Coast came back down to earth. The Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs fell to the Mainland Buccaneers 48-42. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 67-58 to them when the teams met on Monday, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Flagler Palm Coast lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ava Works, who posted seven points and six steals. Works is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexandra Perez, who had ten points and eight rebounds.

Flagler Palm Coast has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-6 record this season. As for Mainland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-8.

Flagler Palm Coast does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mainland has already played their next match (against Tournament Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
