Kossuth's
Josh Whitaker. He struck out 22 batters this week.
First place in the league standings is up for grabs this week, as
Belmont sits just 0.5 games back of
Booneville.
Although the Aggies surrendered only seven walks this week, the lowest number in the league over that span, the Blue Devils are still tops for the season with just 31 walks over 86 innings this year.
The league boasted four .400 hitters over the past week. Leading the pack was Conner Goodwin, who hit .556 by going 5-for-9.
The week's strikeout crown belonged to Whitaker, who turned in 22 Ks for Kossuth. He's first in the league with 66 total strikeouts.
Conner Goodwin drove in four runners on Friday in Booneville's 14-12 victory over
Baldwyn. He went 3-for-4 and scored two runs.
Whitaker led the Blue Devils to a win on March 30, as he notched 11 strikeouts to beat the Aggies, 3-2. Over six innings of work, he gave up four hits and two runs.
