Winneconne's rock-solid defense showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They blew past the Waupaca Comets 56-0. That 56 point margin sets a new team best for the Wolves this season.

Brody Schaffer was his usual excellent self, rushing for 49 yards and three TDs, while also throwing for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (166.7). Another player making a difference was Mason Mathe, who rushed for 77 yards and one score.

Winneconne's record now sits at 7-0. As for Waupaca, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Winneconne will challenge rival Fox Valley Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Wolves 3.4, the Foxes 13) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Waupaca is set to square off against their familiar foe Shawano Community at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
