Basketball Recap: Indian Creek Timberwolves vs. Newark Norsemen

After flying high against the DePue Little Giants on Thursday, the Indian Creek Timberwolves came back down to earth. Indian Creek fell 45-36 to the Norsemen on Friday. Indian Creek was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Norsemen apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Several Timberwolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Everett Willis, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Willis, who scored nine points along with two steals.

Indian Creek's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Newark, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-15 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indian Creek's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Oregon has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 255 points over their last four contests. As for Newark, they will head out on the road to challenge the Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Seneca will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
