Softball Recap: Vina Comes Up Short

Vina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Winston County Yellowjackets, falling 14-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 last Thursday.

Vina saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aimee Shotts, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. That run was Shotts' first of the season.

Vina now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Winston County, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Vina will take on Hubbertville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Winston County, they will face off against Brilliant at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
