Basketball Recap: Savannah Weston Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Pickens

There's no place like home for Seneca, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down the Pickens Blue Flame 48-33 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-43 on January 3rd.

Seneca's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Savannah Weston, who went 8 of 13 en route to 20 points and seven boards. Weston is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Ja'Nyce Floyd was another key player, going 5 for 12 on her way to 14 points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Seneca smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Seneca's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Pickens, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
