Basketball Recap: Green Hope Comes Up Short

Green Hope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost to the Cary Imps at home by a 66-51 margin. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 77-67 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Green Hope still got an impressive performance from Mason Dean, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 19 points. Another player making a difference was Kody Frey, who posted 17 points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Green Hope was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Green Hope's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Cary, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green Hope won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Panther Creek at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Panther Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.5 points per game this season. As for Cary, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Middle Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Cary's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.
