Baseball Game Preview: Northeastern Jets vs. Greeneview Rams

The Northeastern Jets will venture away from home to square off against the Greeneview Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Northeastern earned a 6-1 victory over Madison Plains. The win continues a trend for the Jets in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Greeneview waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Indians. The game was the first time the Rams have beaten the Indians on their field since April 10, 2018.

Greeneview's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Max Penrod, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Greeneview hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive contests.

Greeneview's record now sits at 11-4. As for Northeastern, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Northeastern came up short against Greeneview when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 5-2. Can the Jets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
