Basketball Recap: Vernonia/Jewell Comes Up Short

Vernonia/Jewell lost against Knappa back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Vernonia/Jewell took a blow against the Knappa Loggers, falling 74-44. While losing is never fun, Vernonia/Jewell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Knappa is ranked 70th).

Vernonia/Jewell has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 17 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for Knappa, they pushed their record up to 22-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home.

Vernonia/Jewell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 95-39 loss against Portland Christian on the 4th. As for Knappa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-44 victory against Vernonia on the 31st.
