Softball Preview: Griffith Panthers vs. Hobart Brickies

Griffith is 1-9 against Hobart since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Griffith Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Hobart Brickies at 5:00 p.m. Griffith is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Griffith is is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They fell just short of Illiana Christian by a score of 4-3.

Natalie Vianello made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hobart came tearing into Wednesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Kougars.

Keirys Click was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in the last three games she's played. Taylor Lopez was another key contributor, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with a stolen base and a double.

Griffith's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Hobart, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3.
