Football Recap: Jasper Bulldogs vs. Lumberton Raiders
Jasper was the 43-24 winner over Lumberton when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 31-28 on Friday. While the Bulldogs had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Raiders 7-3.
Jasper's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Raja Garza-Adams, who picked up 124 receiving yards and three TDs. Garza-Adams showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 68 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Major Armstrong, who threw for 140 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Jasper now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lumberton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
