Baseball Preview: St. Paul Buckaroos vs. Lowell Devils
The St. Paul Buckaroos will head out on the road to square off against the Lowell Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, St. Paul had just enough and edged out Camas Valley 7-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buckaroos.
Lowell came out on top against Waldport on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Devils blew past the Irish 10-0.
Adam Davis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Davis was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Lowell let Wyatt Johnson and Henley Garner run wild. Johnson went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Garner got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave Garner a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ben Thurman, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
St. Paul's record is now 2-0. As for Lowell, their record now sits at an identical 2-0.
