Soccer Recap: Academic Magnet Takes a Loss

After soaring to 11 goals the game before, Academic Magnet was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Philip Simmons Iron Horses by a score of 1-0. Academic Magnet were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Philip Simmons earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Academic Magnet's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-6. As for Philip Simmons, they now have a winning record of 7-6-1.

Academic Magnet will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Woodland at 5:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Philip Simmons, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Atlantic Collegiate Academy at 5:30 p.m. Atlantic Collegiate Academy's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Philip Simmons' offense will have their work cut out for them.
