Patterson Institute suffers ninth straight loss on the road

The Patterson Institute Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Immanuel Christian 67-35. Patterson Institute has not had much luck with Immanuel Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

It was another big night for Josiah Johnson, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals for Immanuel Christian. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Carlos Acu?a was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and six steals.

Patterson Institute dropped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.8 points per game. As for Immanuel Christian, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-6.

Patterson Institute will be playing at home against Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Immanuel Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Community Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Community Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Monday.
