Volleyball Game Preview: Bartow Yellow Jackets vs. Lakeland Dreadnaughts

Bartow hasn't had much luck against Lakeland recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Yellow Jackets will venture away from home to challenge the Dreadnaughts at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Thursday, Bartow came up short against Lake Gibson and fell 3-1.

While Bartow ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 26-28, 25-21, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Lakeland came up short against George Jenkins on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Dreadnaughts have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Lakeland was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16, 25-24.

Bartow's loss dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Lakeland, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Bartow couldn't quite get it done against Lakeland in their previous matchup on Monday as they fell 3-1. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
