Minerva has gone a perfect 3-0 against Tuscarawas Central Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Saints at 11:00 a.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Minerva took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Alliance by a score of 8-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Sierra Cress spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gabby Kashdan was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Natalie Essick was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Tuscarawas Central Catholic had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They skirted past the Falcons 4-2.
Stella Everett made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Everett was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jessica Selinsky, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Minerva's record now sits at 7-14. As for Tuscarawas Central Catholic, their record is now 6-11.
Minerva skirted past Tuscarawas Central Catholic 5-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Saints turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
