Baseball Game Preview: Foothill Tech Dragons vs. Cate Rams

For the second straight game, Foothill Tech will face off against Cate. The Dragons will be playing at home against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Foothill Tech is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Foothill Tech had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 18-run drubbing they dealt Cate on Wednesday. The Dragons put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 19-1 victory. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Andy Campa looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Foothill Tech's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Foothill Tech let Cooper Casey and Robert Juker run wild. Casey went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI, while Juker got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Juker has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacory Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Foothill Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .628. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Foothill Tech now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Cate, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
