Basketball Recap: Mcneil's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lake Highlands, McNeil was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the Hanks Knights 58-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Mavericks have posted since November 17, 2023.

Despite the loss, Hanks still got an impressive performance from Sebastian Meraz, who went 7 of 14 en route to 19 points along with eight boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Carreon, who posted five points and six rebounds.

With the win, McNeil broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-11. As for Hanks, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

McNeil wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 100-39 loss against Stony Point on the 10th. As for Hanks, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-42 victory against Midland on the 10th.
