Basketball Recap: Bishop Diego Takes a Loss

Bishop Diego lost against Simi Valley back in November of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bishop Diego Cardinals took a 77-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Simi Valley Pioneers. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Simi Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trevor Hiscocks led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Hiscocks is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Joaquin Aleman was another key player, going 6 for 14 on his way to 21 points.

Bishop Diego's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Simi Valley, their record now sits at 5-6.

Bishop Diego didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-59 loss against Capistrano Valley on the 14th. As for Simi Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 88-81 victory against Santa Paula on the 14th.
