Softball Recap: Hueneme's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Hueneme and Orcutt Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Hueneme had to settle for second. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 10-0. Considering the last time the Vikings couldn't score was back in May, the team can't take the result too hard.

Hueneme moved to 12-15 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Orcutt Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-11-1 record this season.

Hueneme does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Orcutt Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Rancho Mirage at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rattlers will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
