Thurston is 10-0 against Melvindale since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Thurston Eagles will challenge the Melvindale Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Thurston will be strutting in after a victory while Melvindale will be coming in after a loss.

Meanwhile, Melvindale took a blow against Crestwood on Friday, falling 60-10. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 668th, while the Chargers are ranked 234th).

Thurston is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.8 points. As for Melvindale, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with the defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everything came up roses for Thurston against Melvindale when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 70-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Thurston since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
