Baseball Recap: Gateway Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last seven times Gateway and Osceola had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Panthers fell 11-6 to the Kowboys on Friday. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Kowboys from their previous meeting back in March of 2023.

Gateway saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maicol Santiago, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Osceola, their record is now 6-10.

Looking ahead, Gateway will challenge Evans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Osceola, they will take on Lake Minneola at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Kowboys' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
