Football Game Preview: Lely Trojans vs. Central Rockets + Official Tickets

The Lely Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Central Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lely is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Estero with a sharp 52-26 victory. The win was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on three straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lely to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nino Joseph, who rushed for 207 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Joseph is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another signal caller making a difference was Brady Quinn, who threw for 232 yards and four touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Central got themselves on the board against St. Brendan on Friday, but St. Brendan never followed suit. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 70-0 victory over the Sabres. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Rockets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Sabres are ranked 308th).

Central's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Lely, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Lely might still be hurting after the 42-16 defeat they got from Central when the teams last played back in November of 2020. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
