Poly had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Roosevelt Rough Riders a 2-0 shutout. Two seems to be a good number for the Parrots as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Jacob Escalante was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Escalante was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Brenis Mayorga was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. Isaac Cerpa was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Poly's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Looking ahead, Poly will be playing in front of their home fans against North Hollywood at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Parrots are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Roosevelt, they will head out to take on Bell at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
